Pink Book is South Africa’s biggest wedding planning website and directory. Ideal for anyone who is arranging a wedding – from soon-to-be brides and grooms to professional event organisers – it includes a wealth of information on wedding venues, caterers, bridal couture, shuttle services and the hottest honeymoon packages. All of this comes with lashings of inspiration, ideas and advice to take the stress out of the wedding planning process.
Kri8it was thrilled to be invited to work on this prestigious project. Our client contracted us when they embarked on a re-branding exercise, changing their name from ‘Little Pink Book’ to ‘Pink Book’ to reflect their stature as a mature and well-established brand. At that point, Pink Book had an existing website (which was outdated) as well as some front-end designs that were only intended for desktop.
Pink Book needed us to develop a new mobile-friendly website. Taking a mobile-first approach to design and development was crucial, given the fact that more than 60% internet searches are being conducted via smartphones.
Our creative team was also tasked with refreshing the overall look and feel of the brand, creating an elegant yet vibrant new identity. While ensuring that these modern design elements were carried through and applied to the new website, we also used the latest technology to develop a comprehensive vendor directory. To produce a satisfying and streamlined user experience, we used a “Step Process” navigation pattern for the directory. This makes it easy for prospective customers to find just what they’re looking for, while browsing the latest wedding trends, DIY ideas, décor inspiration and so much more.
Kri8it built this website using the latest development workflow trends. One highlight is the sophisticated enquiry cart system, which allows the user to send bulk mails to multiple vendors – tracking all clicks and sends via Google Analytics. The site is also extremely agile and scalable, making it easy for our client to add vendors and update their own content.
