We here at kri8it have recently started using the popular blogging platform WordPress, as a Content Management System. If you did not know already, kri8it has its own, custom written CMS that has been used for many of our projects. Recently however we have come across more clients that need a intermediate solution between a static site, and a dynamic database driven one. WordPress has turned out to be the perfect solution.

But how do you use a Blog as a normal website? I asked myself that same question and the answer I found is this :

“WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability…“

I had to laugh at why Andreas Krohn uses WordPress as his CMS of choice:

“I’ve used dozens of Content Manage Systems, both open source versions like Drupal and Joomla and Enterprise level ones as Microsoft CMS and others. They all have one thing in common – they suck (that is a technical term for “providing less than optimal results”).“

It took some research and some getting used to, but the more we use it, the more we realise what a powerful tool WordPress can be to run not only simple, but fairly complex websites at a reduced cost.
